    • Sam on

You will need to reachout to individual app developers. We don’t develop these apps, we just list them here in JoyofAndroid.com

I enjoyed your take on the ten apps. I’ve been talking to a friend and he has some kind of app. that is running in the back ground and it warns him if there is a problem ahead and gives him an alternate route. would any of these be what he is running?

    • Dani on

      William
I haven’t tried the background feature on any of the apps that I have tested. Would you care to share the name of the app your friend is using? We will be very interested to check it out ourselves πŸ™‚

    • nigel on

William, is the app you speak of available for public use now?

  3. angry user on

Please for the love of all that is good and just, DON’T “play on our smartphones until traffic thins out”!! Would you like to cause even more traffic by causing an(other) accident?!? There are countless studies that show how distracted a driver is while on their phone (hint, as bad or worse than a drunk driver).
e.g. from University of Utah http://www.unews.utah.edu/old/p/062206-1.html
    or Virginia Tech http://www.vt.edu/spotlight/achievement/2013-07-01-distracted/texting.html

And that was a cursory Google search

Lay off the phone while driving, PLEASE

    • Dani on

Yes I agree. Never play with your smartphone while driving. It is highly dangerous. But if you are suggesting that we never touch our smartphones when stuck at 0 mph in jam packed traffic, well it will be hard sir. And quite frankly, it is not that dangerous when there is actually no driving involved πŸ™‚

Is the Voyager traffic app still still available? When I search for it one called Voyager Route Planner is the only one shown, and I’m mostly interested in traffic issues than simply route, and it does not show traffic problems.

    Thank you
