Nintendo 3DS is one of the best-selling handheld consoles ever and there are hundreds of great games for the platform. While it’s impractical to carry a 3DS around all the time, what you do is play 3DS games on your Android phone with these great 3DS emulators for Android. There are a ton of great games to enjoy on your preferred Android device thanks to the expansive Nintendo 3DS library and easy availability of genuine and legit games.
The Nintendo 3DS hasn’t seen as much popularity as PlayStation consoles when it comes to emulators. And there is a big reason behind that: the Nintendo 3DS uses a dual screen system that is hard to replicate on a small smartphone screen.
If you didn’t already know, the DS in the Nintendo 3DS stands for dual screen. Most smartphones these days are around the 5 inch mark and playing a full-screen game on a small screen is a little harder than you may realize. You also have to consider that the physical buttons have to be on the screen as well, in addition to the touchscreen part of the Nintendo 3DS. So, nailing down a great 3DS emulator for Android is not an easy task and that clearly shows with the lack of quality 3DS emulators for Android on the Google Play Store.
A Couple Notes Before We Get Started
The 3 best 3DS emulators for Android were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. I only had one legitimate copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds that too was loaned to me by a friend. All the apps ran the game well and there were minor issues faced during the testing, there are not drastic enough to knock them off the top 3 pedestal.
Finally, Joy of Android stresses that you only use legally obtained copies of Nintendo 3DS video games. So, we won’t be listing any illegitimate ways of getting copies of your game.

DraStic DS Emulator
If you need the best and the most stable Nintendo 3DS emulator for Android, DraStic 3DS Emulator is the best choice, there is no doubt about that. However, it is also a paid app, which may put off many people. The distinct lack of a free demo version also makes it a hard choice for many people, especially those who just want to play one game.
However, there are several great features that make DraStic 3DS Emulator the best 3DS emulator for Android and that justify its price point pretty easily, especially if you are an avid fan. If you have a high-end quad core device, you can easily enhance the games 3-D graphics to be displayed on a sharper screen. Customize the size and placement of the 3DS screens, both for portrait and landscape modes.
DraStic 3DS Emulator also fully supports controllers and physical controls featured in devices like Nvidia Shield. I also really like the inclusion of online synchronized saves, which use your Google Drive space. Finally, DraStic 3DS Emulator includes access to a database of thousands of cheat codes.Show Downloads
Ultimate x3DSx Gold
Ultimate 3DS Gold is a really solid 3DS emulator for Android but it only accepts legally obtained games. I’m still not sure how they could determine if the game is obtained legally or not, but I tried a bootleg copy and it didn’t work at all.
If you are looking for a free 3DS emulator for Android that allows you to play your own games, Ultimate 3DS Gold is the best one you can get. It has fast emulation that saves a ton of battery life, it can run nearly all games without a problem, and it has a powerful screen layout editor that allows you to define the position of on screen controls. I really love the fast-forward feature that allows you to speed up the emulation and skip really boring parts of the game, especially when you have seen them before.Show Downloads
This brings us to the last emulator on the list. N3DS4Droid is the only good, free, and reliable 3DS emulator for Android that plays almost every ROM you throw at it. It is a completely open source app and is getting somewhat consistent updates. The app is still young but it supports many features that you’ve grown accustomed to.
You can easily save states of the games on N3DS4droid, which allows you to resume the game from exactly where you left it. However, I didn’t get it to work flawlessly smooth on my relatively latest Android device. The developers themselves acknowledge the fact that the app is not on par with other 3DS emulators for Android, but, like I said, N3DS4droid is still young, and it will improve with further updates.Show Downloads
