Google to Hold Press Event July 24, Android Upgrade Expected
Google has just sent out a press release invitation to the media fraternity for a high profile event to be held next week, July 24 at 19:00 GMT in San Francisco. The photo from the invitation reads ‘Please join us for breakfast with Sundar Pichai’.
Mr. Pichai is the Senior Vice President for Android, Chrome and Google Apps.
Although no details other than the location, time and date has been offered, the event might have something to do with the mobile OS and perhaps the next wave of android devices. Sundar Puchai recently took over from outgoing vice president Andy Rubin.
Android version 4.3 is said to still carry the Jelly Bean, which means that means that Android Key Lime Pie (5.0) will be launched at the next Google I/O.
Following popular rumors, the event could also focus on the successor to the Nexus 7 tablet, where Google is expected to announce the second generation Nexus 7 device.
The event will be live streamed on Google’s YouTube Channel. This is likely going to be BIG, and will be there to deliver the news.
