3 Ways To Quickly Operate Samsung Pay Swipe Up in 2023

If there’s one reason why we use technology, it’s mainly because of this: convenience.

And that’s one thing Samsung Pay got right. This digital wallet and mobile payment app is designed to make things easier, to make transactions faster and more convenient. And to make things even more convenient, there’s the Samsung Pay swipe up feature.

What is this?

If enabled, this feature will let you instantly access Samsung Pay from the home screen or the lock screen. Just swipe up from the bottom of your screen and you can use the app to pay or transact.

This comes handy when you’re paying in-store. You won’t have to go to the app drawer and look for the Samsung Pay app. While you’re at the register, especially when there’s a long line of customers behind you, you won’t take time in making your purchase. All you need to do is swipe up.

What more can this feature do?

You can customize it as well and mark your favorite cards to use. For example, you can choose that this particular card appears when you swipe from this particular screen. That way, transactions are faster. Because you won’t have to go over the cards you have within the app.

Swipe up and your preferred card appears. Then make the purchase.

However, not many people are a fan of this feature.

But that’s the great thing about apps today. You can choose to disable this feature if it isn’t just for you.

In this article, we’ll teach you how to enable or disable Samsung Pay swipe up.

How To Enable Samsung Pay Swipe Up

First and foremost, you have to have the Samsung Pay app installed on your phone.

Most likely, if your phone is supported, then it’s probably already installed there. Just in case, you can simply download the app below.

Now to the more important discussion…

While you can just go to the app and open it in order to use it and start transacting, there’s an easier way. That is… the Samsung Pay swipe up.

You’ll know that this feature is enabled when the app pops out once you swipe up from the bottom of either your home screen or lock screen. If it doesn’t work, the easy fix is just to head straight to the app itself and change the Settings.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to apps and open the Samsung Pay app.
  2. Tap the menu button. This is found on the top-left corner.
  3. Scroll down and go to “Settings”.
  4. Tap “Use Favorite Cards”
  5. Inside, you’ll see the Home screen, Lock screen, and Screen off.
  6. Tap the slider next to each of these to completely enable swipe up.

How To Disable Samsung Pay Swipe Up

If the swipe up feature of the Samsung Pay app is enabled, you will see a grey bar on the bottom of your screen. If you swipe up this grey bar, then you will instantly be brought to Samsung Pay or the marked favorite card (if you’ve enabled that as well).

However, it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, as they say. So if you’re one of those who don’t like this swipe up feature, but would still like to continue using Samsung Pay, then you can simply disable this feature.

Here’s how:

  1. Open Samsung Pay (swipe up or just tap the app icon).
  2. On the top-left corner, there’s a menu button. Tap this.
  3. Scroll down and go to “Settings”.
  4. Tap “Use Favorite Cards”
  5. Inside, you’ll see Home screen, Lock screen, and Screen off.
  6. Tap the slider next to each of these to complete disable swipe up.

Note: You can also just disable the swipe up feature on one screen, say Home screen, but keep it enabled on other screens.

Another great thing about the swipe up feature is that it lets you access preferred credit or debit cards from any screen.

However, you may encounter an issue when swiping up. What if your card doesn’t appear when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen? Don’t panic. There’s a simple solution to your problem.

There could be 2 possible reasons why: either your card or cards aren’t’ marked as favorite, or you did not enable the Favorite Cards Feature in your app.

Manage Your Favorite Cards

If you have not marked your card as a favorite, just follow these steps:

  1. Tap the “More Options” menu. You can find this on the upper-right corner of the app’s home screen.
  2. Go to “Settings” and tap “Manage Favorite Cards”.
  3. You’ll see a list of cards you’ve linked to the app. Tap the card you want to mark as a favorite.

Enable The Favorite Cards Feature

Even if you have marked certain cards as favorites, they won’t still appear when you swipe up if the Favorite Cards feature was not enabled.

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the “More Options” menu. You can find this on the upper-right corner of the app’s home screen.
  2. Go to “Settings” and proceed to “Use Favorite Cards”
  3. There’s a slider next to the Lock screen, Home screen, and/or Screen
  4. Tap this slider to enable the feature on that particular screen.
  5. You can enable it only on a particular screen (i.e Lock screen), or you can enable it on all screens.

You’ve got to be kidding me! How can you swipe up to see apps? Foundational feature in phone. OH, WAIT, you canNOT because all you can swipe up is sPay. UGH… think people, think.. you’ve got the left or top edge to put this, but NOOOOOOO, you put it over the swipe up for apps. So how do I get that back…. UNinstall a very NOT thought out “feature” (feature! yeah, right, NOT!) Grow up guys… it’s sort of like painting a sign “think ahead” but not having enough room to put the ‘ead’ at the end. UGH!
