How To Install The Omega ROM

Make sure that you follow the steps mentioned below carefully. If the instructions are not properly followed, then you might end up bricking your phone. That being said, the overall installation process isn’t that difficult and you’ll be done in just several minutes.

Step 1

Download the Omega ROM on your PC. You can download the latest version of the ROM from here. The file size is about 1.7 GB so downloading it might take a while.

Step 2

Connect your Galaxy S5 to your PC using a micro USB cable and click on Open folder to view files if you get an AutoPlay popup.

Step 3

Transfer the ROM zip file to your phone’s root directory. Disconnect your phone from the PC.

Step 4

Switch off your Galaxy S5. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously in order to boot your Galaxy S5 in recovery.

While in recovery, go to the Wipe data/factory reset option using the Volume keys and select it using the Power button.

Go to Wipe cache partition using the Volume keys and select it through the Power button.

Go to Advanced and select the Wipe dalvik cache option.

Select Install zip from sdcard.

Select the Choose zip from sdcard option, navigate to the directory where you transferred the ROM zip file and select it.

Wait for the installation process to complete. This might take a while. Once completed, select the Reboot system now option. Your phone will now reboot. That’s it! You have successfully installed Omega ROM on your Galaxy S5. If the reboot takes a long time, you don’t need to worry because this is normal.

    I`m very happy that you give us all this tutorials and helpp us enjoy our hendset.

    I have root my SGS5 4 days a go via ODIN.

    After that i have install the ROM app from Market. But just download nothing more.

    I have find your tutorial and i was very happy thet i can folow everithing and i understend. BUt i have a problem in the process.

    I have done STEP 1, 2 , 3, 4 at STEP 5 i have first problem.

    STEP-5 (Wipe data/factory reset option) i have done this with no problem
    STEP-6 (Wipe cache partition ) Done with no problem

    But here is the problem. Let me mention something. I DONT HAVE A MEMORY CARD IN MY PHONE. JUST THE PHONE MEMORY

    After i have enter in recovery mode i have here only
    1. reboot system now
    2. apply update from ADB
    3. apply update from external storage
    4. wipe data/factory reset
    5. wipe cache partition
    6. apply update from cache

    This is the only option i have. It dos not look like in the picture from STEP- 5.

    Any way o have done the step 5 and 6 but insted to do step 7 like that i have done the step 3, 2, 6 from my post. I was scare thet i have brik my phone, but it was ok after 20 min….

  2. i can not believe how dumb you should be to not know this YOU CAN NOT INSTALL A CUSTOM ROM (at last the .zip ) WITHOUT MICRO SD CARD !!!!!\
