Google Improves Mobile’s Search Card Results To Be More Informative

Google continues to evolve as it integrates Material Theme on the search cards. The company has been turning its sights towards creating a much richer experience with Google search on our smartphones.

A few months ago, Google began testing out a new interface for search card results. Bold header color has been removed, while a new Follow button with the Discover logo has been added.

And now, Google introduces more tabs for accessing relevant information about a certain subject. That interface will now be rolling more widely and comes with redesigns for almost search results.

Google Search On Mobile Just Got A Lot More Informative

Google has recently rolled out a couple of major updates to mobile’s Google Search, and that will just make it more informative.

These major changes are applied to features like weather, where Google has updated the card with a more fun-looking graphics. And looking at the newly updated search results for weather, we can all agree that the old one was a bit dull.

Google is also updating the sports card feature. Search results will then provide users with more extensive stats and information about athletes.

And it seems that Google has also made changes  to movies, TVs, and games where they are making it easier for users to discover new content.

If you search for a TV show or a movie, Google’s search results card will show similar shows and other shows that are only available on a particular platform, such as Netlflix or Hulu.

And that is not the changes Google has been rolling out. You will also notice the changes if you search for Books.

The search results will provide you with tabs that will offer options like other books by the same author that will include publication date and a small synopsis.

Results tab will also show links to various online retailers on where to buy the book as well as information of the author of the book.

You can also see the additional tabs when you search for bands, celebrities, top recipes and many more. These tabs offer additional and extensive information to the things you are searching.

A Server-Side Change For Google Search

These changes are pretty exciting and is indeed more informative. And it also appears that these changes are server-side, meaning, users may have been already experiencing these said changes.

Meanwhile, others might not have been able to experience it yet. Although the new weather card and TV shows/movies layout have already been rolled out to all.

Also, devices that have not updated the app still has the old design and the previous search results.
