Having to deal with cluttered and spam messages can be very tiring. Fortunately, with Android, everything is customizable. You can choose from your home screen and lock screen wallpaper, ringing tones and even up to your own SMS manager.
Good thing, Microsoft has a new app for Android that takes care of those problems for you. SMS Organizer app is designed to automatically sort text messages for you. The software giant originally launched the app last year, but only exclusive in India. Apparently, it is now making its way to more countries.
SMS Organizer app for Android – automatically declutters text messages
Folks from XDA Developers has spotted that SMS Organizer is now coming to the US, UK and Australia today. The app uses a machine learning to automatically sort out and organize messages into separate folders. Messages will then be segregated to different categories such as Personal, Transaction and Promotional.
The tabs at the bottom of the tab will then represent all the categories. The SMS Organizer does not notify users for promotional messages and will automatically filter spam messages and store it in “promotions” folder. Also, the app automatically deletes these messages every after a few days or weeks.
When it comes to contextual reminders in your SMS like flights, trains and movies, the app notifies you right away. It even helps with keeping track with your due payments and balance accounts.
The reminders can be accessed by swiping left or right across the page or tapping the Reminders and Finance tabs in the top bar. Moreso, an Offer tab which shows available discount and coupon offering for food delivery, hotel and travel bookings, movies and many more.
The SMS Organizer though is limited when it comes to sending out messages. It has an impressive sorting and filtering out features and sending out text messages. However, the app does not support MMS (multimedia messaging).
Back up your messages on Google Drive using SMS Organizer
One of the most amazing feature of the app is that users can backup and restore your messages to and from the Google Drive. Right away, you will be prompted to choose a Google account while setting up the app. You can also opt out of it if you don’t want to back up your messages.
In order to use SMS Organizer, users will have to input their mobile numbers which is why it is not available to users outside of India. But now, it appears to be available in more regions.
