Realme 8 5G –– the cheapest 5G on the market yet
It is very clear that the mobile industry is moving towards 5G. There were already a lot of 5G phones released last year and more to come this year.
In reality, though, 5G signals are not as widespread as we think they are, even in places we think are 5G-ready such as the US.
The common denominator for 5G has been that all those phones don’t come cheap. Prices start at $1,000, at least for those popular brands. Now, a 5G phone at a starting price of £200 or around $200+ is a breath of fresh air.
The Chinese phone manufacturer has called its new phone “the most affordable 5G smartphone in the market.” The Realme 8 5G is available in a base variant of 8GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage normally priced at 199 euros. But there is a special offer of 179 euros for early birds.
If you want a bigger storage, you can also opt for the handset with 128GB of internal storage at an early-bird price of 229 euros (normally priced at 249 euros).
Remember that this is a limited-time offer. The promo runs from May 20th to 23rd.
Aside from the storage, the Realme 8 5G is also available in two colors: supersonic blue and supersonic black. The focal point of this mobile phone is its 5G connectivity that promises faster data speeds.
Furthermore, the device has fairly decent specifications despite its cheaper price tag.
The phone features a 6.5-inch large screen display and a large 5,000 mAh battery. Additionally, it features a Smart Power Saving system to help users reduce consumption when the phone does not need to deliver power.
Looking at the screen in detail, the phone has a FHD+ panel, with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a touch sampling of 180Hz, and a brightness of 600 nits.
All this means that the users can get the best quality with whatever they do on their screens: from watching movies, playing games, scrolling through the web, or just looking at images.
When it comes to its camera, the Realme 8 5G has remarkable specifications –– thanks to the combinations of hardware and software. The hardware houses three cameras together with the artificial intelligence that further improves the results on every snap –– regardless of objects and conditions.
The camera array is composed of the 48-megapixel main lens, one for black and white portraits, and a 4cm macro lenses. Amazingly, the camera has up to five night landscape filters to enhance photos taken in low light.
What’s under the hood?
For the 5G connectivity and killer specs to run smoothly, Realme made sure to only have the 7nm Dimensity 700 processor.
This processor helps in saving consumption while giving you the best mobile performance. Additionally, it clocks in CPU speed of 2.2GHz and 950 GHz on the GPU.
Realme is making history as the first manufacturer to put up a 5G mobile phone with a price below 200 euros. So, it’s clear that Realme aims to bring out the best technology in smartphones with an affordable price tag.
