Samsung Pay is a great way to integrate your bank accounts with your Samsung smartphone. You can use your credit card, debit card, and even your PayPal account to make purchases locally. Furthermore, you can use it to pay goods, bills, and services online.

How to use Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay is quite simple to use. Just download and install the app. Once installed, register either a credit card, debit card, bank account, or your PayPal account. When you’re ready to pay, open the Samsung Pay app on your phone. Tap Pay and select your preferred card. Tap PIN or IRIS, and then enter the required security information. Next, hold the back of the phone up to the contactless reader to complete your purchase.

How to use Samsung Pay Online?

Since June 2019, Samsung Pay and the system itself does not support direct online payment transactions. Meaning, you can’t use Samsung Pay to pay for your items on your Amazon cart or paying bills online. On the other hand, you can use Samsung Pay to pay online transactions through Visa Checkout.

Unfortunately, both Samsung and VISA ended the support for paying online transactions with Samsung Pay through Visa Checkout. Rendering the system to be unusable once again for online payments.

Is there a way to pay online with Samsung Pay?

As we mentioned above, Samsung Pay does not currently support any online direct payment. Alternatively, you can use Samsung Pay to purchase gift cards and use the gift cards to pay for your items. For example, you can purchase an eBay gift card through the Samsung Pay app via Gift Store.

To make things even better, you can add an unlimited amount of gift cards to your Samsung Pay account. You can also reload a physical gift card you already bought.

Is Samsung Pay and Android Pay [Now Google Pay (GPay)] the same?

Yes and no. Samsung Pay, like Google Pay, is a digital wireless platform that you can be used to pay for goods, services, and more. However, Samsung Pay cannot be used on other Android smartphones unlike Google Pay and it’s exclusive to supported Samsung smartphones. Additionally, the main difference between Samsung Pay and Google Pay is its features, supported merchants, country, and availability.

Can Samsung Pay work without an internet connection?

Yes, a data connection is not necessary when making in-store physical purchases. Additionally, without an internet connection, most cards will allow you up to 10 transactions (varies from bank to bank).

What store accepts Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay is accepted in every stores and merchant that uses a wireless payment terminal. Terminals such as Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) to make contactless mobile payments. How to send money with Samsung Pay?

With Samsung Pay, you can send money by topping up your virtual prepaid account that’s linked with your Samsung Pay account. Once done, you can send the money virtually to your family or friends who also have a Samsung Pay account. Otherwise, it is also possible to send money via PayPal instead.

How to pay in-app purchases with Samsung Pay?

As of this writing, there are only 7 apps that support in-app purchases with Samsung Pay and those are Samsung Cloud, Fancy, Galaxy Apps, Raise, Speedpass+, Shop Samsung, and Theme Store. Using this app, if you wish to purchase an in-app item, you can do so and pay with Samsung Pay.

Samsung Pay is somehow a hit or miss type of digital platform finance. With a magnitude of choices available online that can do more than what can Samsung Pay do, it’s quite difficult to recommend or transfer to Samsung’s digital payment platform. For example, you can do more with Google Pay or you’re better off using the app of your bank for transactions. If it wasn’t for the rewards and rebates provided by Samsung for using Samsung Pay, consumers won’t even bother testing the app.
